Digital Nimbus
Here is a 2 hour radio show that plays fun electronic stuff out in UCal at Irvine. They put streaming and download links to their shows. The pic above is this staged venue we set up in some of my friends warehouse loft living space. We had our first show on Saturday, and the cops didn't come.

Should Old People Drive?
I was driving in KC rush hour traffic today, and I saw this old lady, like 70 or 80 or 60 or some shit old, with an oxygen feed running to her nose while she was puffing on a funky, steam roller looking breathable medicine machine pipe ventilation device. She was driving, with a handicap sticker in the window, and had a 7 year old in the car. Looked like the little baby above, but like many decades older. Seriously? I love old people as much as the rest of you all, but, damn. I am all about highway medication, but this is even past what I feel is aceptable. My standards are low. What is this world coming to. I was going to take a picture, but I didn't want the old lady to flip out and have a heart attack, or call the cops on me, cause that would always be bad.
On a similar note, well, at least in a round-about-way, well not really, cause you know why the hell I even noticed that old lady,
"James also revealed he and his teammates smoked marijuana one night after getting access to a hotel room in Akron." Only one? You knew you were in the NBA when you were 16. Only one?

Bach
I had this idea that seemed like a pretty good idea at the time to do some hippy bullshit and make some crazed noise soundscape out of some classical music. I have always had a sort of vile disgust for Bach, so I chose him for my project. Originally, I envisioned taking a whole piece, not just a movement, and making this massive 20-30 min long musical abstraction of noisey hiss and pops. But, I think due to my age and attention disorders I have gained over the years of "hard livin" this turned out not to be a good idea. I had chopped all 6 movements of this Bach Cello suite apart, but I didn't have the patience to put it all together. Then, after a night of hard living, it dawned on me, this is a noise track for Christ's sake, play them all at one time. So, I played them all at one time, and now 20 ish minutes of pure Bach crotch funk is smashed into 4 minutes. Go team! I did do some funny things with the pitch shifting of each movement, and did run it through a pretty fun knob automation delay fun land fun. Pic was taken at my house, song was made at my house. It is noisey, and there are no beats involved, only cellos and distortions and feedback delays and distortion.

Huh.
So I was just listening to some of this CRYSTAL CASTLES stuff on Lala, and I was all "Huh, is this shallow flash-in-the-pan-hipster-bullshit (kinda), or is it actually kinda hot (yes), or do I care?"
Then I read this. I dunno, I mean I've got friends in the utopian, free-everything-on-the-internet camp (some of y'all), and some friends in the how-can-the-internet-help-me-get-scrilla camp (some more of y'all), and what I'm wondering is, is this a clear-cut case of naive hippies setting themselves up for exploitation? Or of shallow untalented scenesters grasping around for some authenticity to cash in on? Hey, is the music even good enough to set off a quandary like this?
PS Oh, but hey, you know what is tight as fuck is that new Clark album.

cake wrecks
ok...someone deleted that nasty link. probly a good idea considering it's presence would get this blog banned from at least one country that i know of.
i guess my degree of apathy to that sort of thing is jacked up higher than i thought.
here is a decidedly more acceptable site involving wrecked cakes.

Broken Fader Cartel website SOS
I am sending an SOS to the world. So, the main brokenfadercatel.com website needs a face lift. Nah, it needs a to be shot in the head and rebirthed. So, you crazy boys are pretty smart, and do pretty things with the seeing artz and such, so I/we/BFC needs some visual advice.
Do you all have any ideas on a design theme/idea for brokenfadercartel.com? Right now it is just brainstorming so I figured I would see if you had any crazy wild ideas worth keeping (Ian, wasn't it you that thought of "discount plastic surgery"?) Any ideas are welcome, even color schemes and shit. We have the structure and content pretty well decided upon, but no design to put it all in.
and for fun, a pick of me on Abe Lincoln's lap.

Hexual Ceiling
Transient: Hexual Ceiling
So i was listening to this record as i was painting the inside of a house.
There's some headbangers. There's some cheese. There's really bad vocals on one of the tracks....but give it a listen.
Also i know i may have posted a link to this site before but its a mine of tunes....some good, some bad, some interesting, some boring, some unique, some redundant...check it out for yourself.

Major Lazer
Diplo is hands down the worst thing to happen to music this decade. Vomit in my fucking mouth.
It's not even 8am and I already feel like this.
