This band is probably about to get pretty popular since they have a song in that new movie Drive (which looks like it might be great). The song they have in the movie has vocals that are sort of annoying, but their earlier EP and full length are pretty excellent nostalgic synth pop:
The label they're on, Valerie, has some other stuff that's kind of interesting but tends more towards italo disco. At the least, their releases tend to have pretty badass cover art.

'drive' is a fantastic film. i've been feeling the 80s throwback italo acid breakdance beats since i first heard DMX Krew...glad to see the style popping up on the mainstream radar a lil bit cuz goddamn we don't need no more derivative dubstep. check out 'mitch murder' too.
ReplyDeleteyeah some of this mitch murder stuff is good, i hadn't heard it before. makes me wonder whatever happened to the whole skwee thing that was happening for about 10 minutes.
