Last night I saw some band that is not Joy Division play Unknown Pleasures. It was rather lame - the one guy actually from Joy Division barely played his bass at all, instead leaving the other bass player (yes, 2 bass players) to do most of the work. He also apparently couldn't be bothered to learn the lyrics to the 32-year-old album, as evidenced by the music stand with lyrics next to him on stage. The rest of the band was pretty good though.
So then I went back to BK to see Nosaj Thing and Mary Anne Hobbs who both fucking killed it. Check the bottom video for a Photek dubstep track, played last night for the first time anywhere. Also, huge ups for the girl doing live visuals for Nosaj Thing. Sorry for the video/sound quality - taken on an iPhone in drunkvision.
When I got home there was a giant dead raccoon on my street. Who knew they had raccoons in Brooklyn?
