Um, i guess i like it in same way i like my mom's spaghetti. It's not the best spaghetti in the world but it's still pretty good. Even though it's a simple recipe, there are still better spaghetti nights than others... but when Mama Naila is "on"... whoo boy. Generally speaking there's lots of meat in it and even though the tomato part comes out of a can, there are spices that she adds that kind of zing it up in the delicious way i've grown accustomed to over the years. Earlier today when I saw the ingredients on the kitchen counter I got instantly vamped about tonight. Spaghetti night. Lucent numbers has all of the elements to be a good spaghetti night. For real. There's tons of seasoned beef sizzling in the cast iron pan. The sauce is simmering away in the pot with the bay leaves and oregano or whatever the fuck she puts in there and the house is starting to smell really good. It's been a long time since i've eaten it on the regular. When i was younger I used to insist on it. she'd make tons of sauce before she left town and it'd be gone in days. I was visiting my mom when I listened to the new squarepusher earlier and when i smelled that smell from the other side of the house my heart started to race a little and it was hard to concentrate on much else because I was starving. I ran downstairs and sat down to a heaping bowl and everything was in place. the rave feel of the album... the fucking amen breaks.. the blissiness... I was really getting in to it for a bit, but something was off. It was like the meat was ground turkey and there was no salt or pepper in it. Just chunkiness and texture but no flavor. Don't get it twisted, my mom makes some mean spaghetti and i would put it to the test against most other folks' mom's spaghetti, but it was still disappointing. I was expecting so much more. Maybe it's my fault and i'm getting carried away by memories of spaghettis i ate in better times. Back then there was fresh parmesan cheese and warm bread to eat it with.. Tonight, rather than going back for seconds, I ate my fill and pushed the plate away. I folded my napkin up, made some coffee and ate a cookie while i reminisced on the nights i spent eating designer pills and dancing around in baggy pants while my mom sat at home and worried. That was over a decade ago.
andrew, that's the nicest "comment" comment i've ever gotten . when are you going to call me, by the way? I've almost forgotten what yr voice sounds like.
it's t.j. doing the usual.....a little better than his last three efforts, but it kind of goes all 70s porno on that ass. not in a good way.
