ok ok ok

alright so, favorite album of the year?
i've already put in my vote for the bbml record but i do think that the latest
Autechre: Quaristice is an amazing little thing of a record. it lacks a serious headbanger
but, with the exception of one or two tracks, the whole thing is solid. (and you can't really
fuck with chenc9...classic autechre.)

who's up?

however, I did have some ultra surreal Moroccan induced situations walking around Seville, spacing out, watching people, while listening to Quaristice (how the fuck do you pronounce that shit?). Headphones+autchere=any situation better.

  3. I know this should be my default record of the year, but I still haven't altogether digested it, or the alternate versions or subsequent weird E.P./Single/Subscription thing they did through Bleep. I have had this problem since basically the day I bought EP7 almost a decade ago, where new Autechre releases leave me cold until another one a whole order of magnitude weirder and less intelligible comes along. Untilted is the only example from what amounts now to probably over half their catalog that I have unequivocally LIKED on the first listen. And the next time after that that I listened to Draft 7.30? It suddenly sounded like pop music instead of gobbledygook. So I guess Quaristice is gonna wind up as my favorite new release of, like, 2011. And the reason Autechre has stayed relevant to me for so long is that I already know that.

  5. I really tried to listen to that Lil Wayne record, sqrt. Twice. I couldn't do it. Maybe I'll try again, but generally if I can't make it through the first couple dedicated listens, it's curtains.

  6. first mistake, you listened to it, you just gotta live it man, live it. I mean someone get a Winn-Dixie Bag full of money to the VIP section. I mean, and all she wants me to do is fuck da police. I mean, damn son, he breaks that akon pitchshift thing out and you can't even understand what he is saying. Live it man, you can be listening to it, you just gotta say the F when you say it.
