Doctor Octoroc's 8-Bit Jesus is an interesting bit of Christmas chiptunes now available for free download. The good Doctor deftly/blasphemously applies classic nintendo style to popular christmas carols with astonishing results.

Wow, the combination of two nostalgic & special Childhood Things (8-bit & Christmas) makes this doubly irresistible. Maybe I'll try to spring it on my family.
ReplyDeleteI already sprung it on my co-workers. A few of the guys in digitizing and I used to trade notes on decent chiptune / vid-band stuff, and everyone agrees that the Castlevania series wins the Congressional Medal of Honor for Most Consistently Good Music. Debate me if you wish, I will throttle your giant meathead with baling wire.
ReplyDeleteI know there are like 8 million bands like this out there, but if you get the itch, you should check out The Advantage if they ever come to play in your town. Their records are OK but their shows are better.
